I apologize (mainly to Bret, maybe the only person that reads this crap) for the lack of entries. It doesn't mean that this summer has been boring.. exactly the opposite is true. Every week is packed to the gills, even if we don't make plans. Every summer seems to be like that. It is all of a sudden here, and then before you know it, in a blaze of blistering heat, rainy days, slurpees and the occasional beer it is gone. We still have a solid month and a half left, I should just enjoy it. I am really putting in an effort to get the most out of this year... I think its working.

I love it when fans get into the game, even when it's baseball.

Sun Wah Episode 1

The wife and I went to one of our favorite places in the city today. Sun Wah supermarket. If you have been then you know. If you haven't... then this will be a good primer on the kinds of wonder that are waiting for you in Chinatown.

First up: some kind of dried fish covered in sesame seeds and sliced almonds in a bag.
Wait, are those almonds talking?

"Hey everybody, we're just a couple of cool almonds hanging out.
Nevermind the horrendous pile of fish gore,
we actually taste delicious!!"

Caution Bear. Tasty lemon flavored cookie snacks in the shape of numbers. Because that has everything to do with a super intense Chinese bear losing it's mind.

Collon. Little brown pellets that taste like almonds. They very well could taste good, but that is such an unfortunate name for this product. You might as well just name these "Litte Poops."

Really? This was on sale. Not surprising.

Nut Walker. I don't know what to say. He is a nut that walks? Walker Texas Ranger? Maybe he has a spin-off comic book where he walks on bad guys nuts?

Magic Flakes! They come in the same kind of pail that cat litter comes in. These little crackers are beyond our earthly realm of physics and quantifiable science. They are simply... magic. Thats why they are on the bottom shelf and covered in dust.

Finally, something familiar.
My brain was beginning to hurt from all of the absurd neon color combinations. This looks not too bad. Beef jerky has always been sort of a guilty pleasure of mine.

Nope. Its actually dried bean curd, and it's called "GRANMA MOUTH."

Just when you think you are falling for something, the curtain is drawn back, revealing the grim truth. Like in the wizard of Oz when you find out that the Wizard is just some fat little bald guy.
